On today’s edition of The Today Show Gavin Grace was joined in studio by Mark Graham. Mark is currently on a quest to attend 3 festivals in Ireland every week for a year. His travels around the country are a protest of positivity against the banks (and their refusal to give him a mortgage!).  While on his travels he’s been crowned the Conker Champion of Ireland, the sixth best bog snorkeller in Ireland, he’s thrown shoes at George Bush while running across mountains in Connemara, hallucinated on Lough Derg, hucklebucked in Lisdoonvarna and has been an escort in Macra’s lovely girl competition – the list is endless! Mark is always on the look out for festivals to visit so if you know of an event of interest you can email him at [email protected]

Dan McCartney of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute discussed chocolate ahead of Easter Sunday. Most people enjoy chocolate and will indulge over Easter. It may taste good but what about chocolate’s effect on health? The Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute (INDI) is the professional organisation for clinical nutritionists/dietitians in Ireland. Dietitians apply knowledge of food, nutrition and other related disciplines to promote health, prevent disease and aid in the management of illness. Their aim is to keep all their members and the general public updated with the most accurate information in relation to nutrition and dietetics.

Molly Muldoon, Deputy Editor of Irish Central also joined the show for her weekly update on the news making headlines in the US. Today Molly spoke with Clare Fm’s Maire Moynahan about the gunning down of Templemore native Tom Walsh in Florida, the ongoing controversy surrounding horse and carriages in Central Park and the tragic death of Rory Staunton.

Also on today’s show Gavin spoke with Bob Bubka, renowned Golf Writer and Commentator. Bob is one of the most famous golf commentators in the USA and has been covering the sport for over thirty years.  He joined us live from Augusta National, which is hosting the 76th Masters this weekend. Clare FM’s Kevin McGillicuddy also joined Gavin for a preview of tonight’s Sideline View

Robert Cassidy of the Kilfenora Boxing Club discussed a special boxing event in aid of Cystic Fibrosis. Kilfenora Boxing Club in association with TLC4CF will host the event at the Falls Hotel, Ennistymon on Easter Saturday, April 7th.
