On Monday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with Senator Mark Daly of Fianna Fail and Senator Martin Conway of Fine Gael about the Seanad being recalled from Summer recess
Last week the Cathaoirleach of the Seanad confirmed that he will recall the Upper House from its summer break to discuss organ donor legislation
The recall was forced by Fianna Fáil Senator Mark Daly who got 20 senators to back his call to discuss an EU directive that was signed into law without debate last year
It is understood that the Seanad could possibly examine the directive as early as Tuesday 20 August.- senators were due to return to work on 18 September

Lahinch businessman Donoch O’Loughlin contacted Morning Focus to speak about the first class treatment he received recently at Ennis General Hospital
He praised the staff at the facility for the wonderful treatment and said that his stay there was pleasant in every way.
Similarly he congratulated Tomsie O’Sullivan and the others who work tirelessley for the Friends of Ennistymon hospital – another terrific example of health facilities in Clare.

The cost of running a family car in Ireland has risen since last year

The AA’s annual assessment of the total cost of car ownership has shown that although there is a slight fall in fuel prices, motor insurance costs have risen by around 3.5 per cent
The cost of a driving licence has also increased by a massive 220 per cent as we move to the new credit card format
Motor insurance costs are also on the rise –  with women seeing more severe increases than men
The AA is urging the Government to reduce the tax on fuel in the next Budget

Dr Siobhan O’Connor, programme coordinator with the Ennis CDP Clare Primary Health Care Programme for Travellers, joined John in studio to speak about the services they provide
After recent publicised suicides of travellers in the Midwest  Siobhan reminded people who are struggling that they are there if they wish to talk 

The Primary Health Care Programme for Travellers in Clare has a drop-in service every Wednesday from 10am to 1pm for any Traveller that wants to talk or get information on health services in the region

Clare and Limerick will meet in next Sundays All Ireland Semi final vying for a place in the All Ireland Final against Cork.
The rebels beat Anthony Dalys Dublin by 1-24 to 1-19 in their semi-final in Croke Park.
