It was semi final fever all the way on Friday’s Morning Focus!

Ahead of Sunday’s clash between Clare and our neighbours Limerick, both sets of management are acutely aware of the tactical battle that will take place on the sidelines

Presenter Gavin Grace was joined by former Clare Senior Hurling Manager Ger Sparrow O’Loughlin and former Limerick All Star Damien Quigley for a bit of banter ahead of the match.   

Clare FM’s Tommy Meskill was out and about in Ennis to ask people their feelings ahead of the match. 

Residents in Bunratty are extremely upset as vandals caused over a thousand euro worth of damage to some of the flower beds, brackets and hanging baskets last weekend
The Bunratty Local Development Association is made up of residents from the local community who voluntarily give up their time and effort into transforming the village
Spokesperson Bernie Parry spoke with Gavin about the incident and expressed the upset this vandalism has caused in the locality.

Internationally renowned Botanist Diana Beresford Kroeger is currently in East Clare with a Canadian film crew shooting a film –‘10 Trees that can save the World’ – it’s a global project to promote the restoration and expansion of woods
She has teamed with Andrew St Ledger of the Woodland League and is focusing on a tree in Raheen Oakwood, Californian Redwood Brian Boru
Gavin spoke with Diana and asked her about her work, the film and why a tree in County Clare was chosen.

Limerick’s Niall Moran insists it won’t be strange to face some of his pupils when his side take on Clare in the All Ireland semi-final
Moran, a teacher at Ard Scoil Ris in Limerick City, will be part of the Treaty men’s side when they go up against the Banner at Croke Park
The Clare panel will include the likes of Darach Honan, Conor Ryan, Nicky O’Connell, Jamie Shanahan and Colin McInerney who all attended, and played hurling with Moran at Ard Scoil
We heard Niall Moran comment ahead of the game on Sunday and Gavin spoke with Derek Larkin – Ard Scoil Ris Hurling Coach and Teacher – about the many Clare players that have passed through the school.

Lisa Lawlor of Clare FM Sport joined Gavin to give her comments ahead of the semi final and a special and extended Sideline View from 6pm this evening.

Amanda Hogan of the Clare Hurling Supporters Club made a final call for Clare people to get behind the Banner this Sunday.

The Carrigaholt Family Festival gets underway this evening
It begins with a triathlon followed by many events throughout the weekend culminating in an open air Mass on Sunday at 12noon in the Square in Carrigaholt – Mags Keane had a word with Gavin.

This Sunday a fundraising Man versus Spaghetti eating contest will take place in Randaddy’s, Lahinch raise funds for William Winder Rainbow Foundation

Bluebird Care Clare have orgainsed a scenic five-mile walk around The Burren on Sunday at 12p.m to raise funds for the cause
