On today’s Afternoon Show Máire Moynahan was joined by Richard Gair, the West Clare Steam Engine Driver, who’s based in Kilkee. An adaptation of “A Minutes Wait”, the John Ford film that was shot in 1956 in Kilkee, will be produced in West Clare.  Rehearsals for parts will start in May. The first performance will take place in June with further performances throughout the summer months. For those that haven’t seen this comedy, the entire film is about getting on and off the train to the bar with unforeseen consequences. The speaking parts are few and short but many extras are needed. The speaking roles will be double-cast to lessen the commitment. Technical, backstage and front-of-house volunteers are also required. If interested, please attend the West Clare Railway station at Moyasta on Wednesday 19th February at 7 pm. The 20 minute original film will be shown and plans fully explained.

Our resident Gardening Expert from Glenbrook Nurseries, Philip Moreau was also in studio and talked about getting your potatoes in the ground. He also gave advice on how to clean your glass houses and poly tunnels. Text your gardening queries to 53030 or email [email protected]

Singer and Voice of Ireland Keith Hanley was a special guest of the show today and performed live for us.  Keith has had a whirlwind year since he was crowned winner of the Voice of Ireland 2013. He’s been in the recording studio for the past few months and his new album – entitled Hush will be released on the 7th of March. In studio he performed his rendition of Swedish House Mafia’s Don’t You Worry Child.
