On today’s show Caroline Lynch from the Irish Hospice foundation joined Máire to talk about the charity’s involvement with Londis, who celebrates 60 years. To mark the anniversary they are giving their customers the chance to share out €60,000 of their money between three deserving charity partners. The Irish Hospice Foundation is delighted to be one of the lucky three but now need help. For every purchase you make in your local Londis store, you will receive a Londis Token. Use your token and vote for Irish Hospice Foundation. The more tokens they get the bigger share of €60,000 will go to the Irish Hospice Foundation

James Lafferty from the Irish Red Cross Clare Branch was on the show to alert listeners to how the group will be fundraising on Friday at the Applegreen Filling Station – Ennis and Clare Marts Ltd on Thursday next – 23rd to raise much needed funds for a Community Vehicle/Ambulance/Mini Bus for the people of Clare (from 9am to 6pm).

Joan Tarmey, the Environment officer with Clare County Council also spoke to Máire about how they’ve organised a Pop Up Charity Sale in the council offices tomorrow. Friday’s fundraiser will also feature a wide range of new and pre-loved clothing, bags, jewellery on sale for charity between 9am to 4pm. An Upcycling Clinic, hosted by an upcycling expert, will also be run between 12:30-2:30pm showing people how to breathe new life into their clothes and give them a real makeover. Three pieces of donated clothing have been upcycled in advance of the Clinic and will be on display at the event.
