Fine Gael Ministers, TDs and Senators have been attending the party think in in Co Kildare yesterday and today.

Next month's budget is expected to take centre stage and the party will also see if lessons have been learned from their disastrous general election performance which saw them lose 26 seats.

Fine Gael's general election campaign failed in vision, empathy, planning and communication according to a report prepared for the party.

The report by Marion Coy suggests the party redefine itself as anchored in local communities, calls for a new director of policy, better communications and the mobilisation of members. It's one of two reports on the election given to TDs and Senators.

Gavin was joined on the line by Joe Carey TD to discuss the Think-In

UL Hospitals welcomes the publication of the HSE’s Winter Initiative Plan for 2016/2017 which will take effect from late October/early November 2016. In accordance with the national plan, UL Hospitals will provide its Winter plan 2016/2017 for validation by the end of September. Once this is agreed and in place, the specific details will be announced by UL Hospitals Group.

The aim of the Winter Initiative Plan 2016/ 2017, is to provide a focus on specific measures required to address the anticipated surge in activity experienced this time of year across the hospital and community. One of the key objectives is to reduce the numbers of people waiting to be discharged from hospitals and who require specific supports and pathways to do so. In achieving this objective, the capacity of the acute hospital system will be improved and in turn the patient experience in the Emergency Departments and the wider hospital system will also be improved.

The plan contains a number of key measures both in terms of hospital avoidance, timely access and discharge. It will be implemented through a specific and detailed planning process required in all hospitals and Community Healthcare Organisations across the country.

Lots of us have little habits and superstitious beliefs or routines, even if we don't always admit to them. Maybe we avoid walking under ladders or stepping on cracks in the footpath. But imagine if those habits and routines grew to dominate your life.

That's exactly what happened to 16-year-old Rebecca Ryan from Kilrush.

Rebecca suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, or OCD, a condition that's caused crippling and irrational fear of everyday things like the colour blue and the number four.

Now at ease with her fears, she's just published a book about her OCD called 'Dictatorship'.

Rebecca has just launched a diary of her life called 'Dictatorship – My War with OCD'.
