The Minister for Justice has admitted that there will be instances where children are taken into care on the basis of unfounded allegations.

Alan Shatter has asked the garda commissioner for a report on how two children were removed from their families, based on concerns about their identities, but he’s insisted Gardai and the HSE have a responsibility to ensure the safety of children.
