A man is in Garda custody after a young woman was killed in a fatal stabbing in Kilkenny city last night.

The 28-year-old victim was attacked in the shop where she worked in the Market Cross shopping centre at about 8:30.
She was rushed to St Luke's Hospital – but was pronounced dead a short time later.
A 27-year-old man was arrested after a Garda search of the area – he's being questioned at Kilkenny Garda Station.
