Conor Cooney has been honoured as one of the country’s top young hurlers at this years 2009 Ulster Bank Rising Star Awards.

The O Callaghans Mills man was rewarded for his performances for his college W.I.T in this years Fitxgibbon cup by being named as coprner back on the selection of rising star for 2009.
W.I.T got to the semi finals of the Fitzgibbon compettion with Cooney in outstding form for the college in this years campaign.
He was the only Clare represntative on the panel,with Cork and Kilkenny both having 5 representatives each on the final 15.
