Clare Set For Munster Football Championship Opener

Clare will look to reach the last four of the Munster Senior Football Championship this afternoon.

Colm Collins side take on Limerick in Cusack Park as they bid to beat their neighbours for the third year in a row in the championship.

Management have named a strong team for the game with the likes of Joe Hayes, Martin McMahon, Gordon Kelly, Gary Brennan and David Tubridy all starting.

 

Throw in at Cusack Park this afternoon is at 3.30pm, live commentary here on Clare FM in association with Jones’s SuperValu Miltown Malbay.

Last night saw Cork overcome a strong Waterford challenge to win by 1-12 to 1-11 with the Rebels now taking on Tipperary in the last four.

The meeting of Derry and Tyrone gets today’s action underway in the All-Ireland Football Championship.

The two sides meet at the Celtic Park for the right to take on Donegal in the Ulster semi-finals next month.

Throw-in is at 2pm

Meanwhile in Connacht Leitrim have made the trip to Ruislip to take on London with a 3.30pm start

In hurling the last two spots in the Leinster semi-finals are up for grabs.

First up at 2pm Laois play host to Wexford at O’Moore Park, with neither manager on the sideline for the game.

Laois boss Eamon Kelly opts to sit in the stands for games, while Davy Fitzgerald is serving a sideline ban for the incident with an official in their league semi-final loss to Tipperary.

Then at 4pm reigning league champions Galway take on Dublin in Tullamore.
