Guilfoyle: Tipperary Will Be Confident Of Turning Over Clare

A former Clare hurling captain feels the Banner will face a confident Tipperary side in Saturday’s All Ireland Quarter Final.

The two sides come into the game off the back of very different results, with Clare suffering defeat in the Munster Final to Cork while the defending champions hammered Dublin in the qualifiers.

Both squads have injury concerns ahead of the tie, with Clare sweating on the fitness of Podge Collins, Oisin O’Brien and David McInerney while the Premier have concerns over Darren Gleeson and Niall O’Meara.

Feakle’s Tommy Guilfoyle says the lessons of defeat last time out must be learned if Clare are to advance to the last four.

Meanwhile former Tipperary player Michael Doyle feels it’s a massive game for the defending champions.

They’ve recovered from defeat against Cork to ease through the qualifiers and are now just one game away from getting back to Croke Park.
