Clare Priest Beleives Religions Won’t Be As Easily Ridiculed On Television

A Clare native priest believes religions won’t be as easily “ridiculed” on television – despite the rejection of his complaint about an episode of The Late Late Show.

Fr Kevin McNamara, who is the parish priest in Moyvanne, Co. Kerry, lodged the complaint after Blindboy Boatclub of the Rubberbandits described the Eucharist as “haunted bread” in a January edition of the programme.

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has rejected his objection – along with 10 others relating to the same show.

Despite the outcome, Cooraclare native Fr McNamara thinks his actions will make a difference:
