Newmarket manager Bob Enright feels his side come into this weekends Clare Senior Hurling Semi Final as underdogs.

The Blues are just 60 minutes away from reaching the showpiece day for Clare club hurling, and take on a Sixmilebridge side who are bidding for a third title in the last five years.

Both sides came through their quarter final ties in impressive fashion, with Newmarket beating Ballyea while the Bridge were comfortable winners over Cratloe.

Enright says the manner of that performance is something they’ll have to be wary of

Meanwhile Clooney/Quin boss Fergie O’Loughlin says they’re eager to take the next step in their development as they look to reach a first final since 1942.

Victory over Eire Óg last time out saw them reach the last four with Clonlara to provide the opposition in Cusack Park on Saturday.

County star Peter Duggan will be looking to continue his assault on the top scorer award having registered 2-43 in the championship to date.

O’Loughlin says their progress this season has led to a sense of confidence within the camp
