Sixmilebridge boss John O’Meara feels competition for places on their starting 15 is heating up ahead of Sunday’s Clare Senior Hurling Semi Final.

The 2015 champions are looking to reach a 4th final this decade when they take on neighbours Newmarket in a repeat of the 2013 decider.

The Bridge have a number of intercounty stars to call on, with the likes of Seadna Morey, Shane Golden, Jamie Shanahan and Cathal Malone all likely to feature.

O’Meara says they can’t allow themselves to get distracted from the task at hand

Meanwhile Clonlara manager Damian Power says they’re ready for a massive battle as they look to make it three final appearances in a row.

The south east Clare men have suffered defeat to Sixmilebridge and Ballyea in the last two deciders, and haven’t claimed the Canon since 2008.

They take on a Clooney/Quin side looking to bridge a gap of 75 years since they last reached the final, and Power says while their opponents will be hungry, there’s a massive desire in his squad too
