Man Arrested In Connection With Ennis Shop Robbery Released Without Charge

A man arrested in connection with the robbery of Coote’s Shop in Ennis has been released without charge.

The man in his early 20’s was arrested in the Ennis area today for robbery using an air pistol at the shop on the Kilrush Road on Wednesday last.

He was detained and questioned at Shannon Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

He has since been released without charge and a file is being sent to the DPP.

A man wearing a mask entered Coote’s shop around 4pm on Wednesday, October 18th armed with what appeared to be a gun.

He threatened staff before making his getaway with a sum of cash.

He made his escape in the direction of the Rocky Road.

The man was described as approximately 6 foot tall, of thin build, wearing a dark coloured CCC tracksuit leggings and dark top.

The mask he was wearing was described as a Guy Fawkes type.

No one was injured in the incident.
