A Shannon Councillor has claimed that it’s as easy to buy drugs in his town as it is to buy a bottle of wine.
The Cathaoirleach of Shannon Municipal District has raised the issue with local Gardaí at a recent meeting of the local authority.
Sinn Féin’s Mike McKee says he’s been told anecdotally that the problem in the town in rampant and going on behind closed doors.
Cllr McKee insists more supports need to be put in place to crack down on this issue.
