Foreign Investors Accounted For 1,200 New Hires In MidWest Last Year

IDA Ireland says foreign investors in the MidWest hired nearly 1,200 additional staff last year.

Releasing its results for 2018, the IDA is trumpting its successes outside of Dublin, including the attraction of Jaguar Land Rover to setup its new software engineering firm in Shannon, creating 150 jobs.

Just under 19,000 people are now working for FDI companies here, an annual increase of 6%.

229,000 people are now working in FDI firms in Ireland, but the IDA warns that significant risks remain, including Brexit and taxation reform in the US.
