Today’s Morning Focus was full of news covering everything from the hotel sector in Clare, the Limerick for Engineering showcase event for school-leavers and playwright Jacinta Sheerin on her play coming to glór tomorrow. Catch up on the best bits:

To kick off the show, we had Fiona Whyte, who was on air talking to Gavin talking about the new Surrogacy Bill. Whyte, who has written a book on the topic, fears that the new bill will push couples to go abroad.

Michael Vaughan, former President of the IFI was on next talking on Morning Focus about the state of the hotel sector as they face the uncertainties of Brexit. A survey taken this week showed that only 40% of hoteliers nationally have a positive outlook for their business over the next twelve months.

Next on the show, Gavin was talking about the upcoming Limerick for engineering showcase at Shannon Airport on Thursday. Lots of Shannon-based companies will be involved in the event, Gerry Murphy from Electronics Ireland spoke to Gavin about the event.

Next on the show, Clare FM’s Fiona McGarry was talking to Razan Abdel Wahed, who fled from Syria and has recently been awarded the Clare Garda Division Youth Award for her courage in starting a new life in Ennistymon.

Jacinta Sheerin, Ennistymon-based actor and playwright was on air talking about her new play Sweet About Me, coming to glór tomorrow. The one-woman show is based in an addiction treatment centre and follows an 18-year-old who is recovering from an eating disorder.
