A former Ennis councillor is issuing a fresh call on Clare County Council to extend the opening hours of the car park in the new market building in the county town.
James Breen, who stepped down from political life at the local elections this year, says people who park at the market for funerals nearby are having to rush back to their cars before it closes at 8 o’clock or risk a €120 release fee.
The former Independent Councillor previously put a motion down in the council chambers; but the local authority says a fresh one would need to be submitted in order for consideration to be given to the idea.
