Fresh calls are being made on the government and the ESB to outline the future plans for Moneypoint Power Station.

Fianna Fáil General Election candidate Rita McInerney has accused Fine Gael of continuing to ignore West Clare by not making clear the future plans for the West Clare power station, after it transitions away from coal.

Contrasting the situation here with the Midlands, the Doonbeg businesswoman says a lack of information from Minister Richard Bruton and from the ESB on the future of Moneypoint has led to an information vacuum, and uncertainty.

She says this needs to be addressed as a priority
