At least 96 people in Clare have died as a result of drugs in the ten year to 2017.
According to the Health Research Board, 10 of those died as a result of drugs poisoning in 2017, the second highest figure in over a decade.
The total figure is likely to be even higher, as there are gaps in the data due to reasons of confidentiality, meaning it’s likely that drugs are to blame for around one death each month in this county..
