There’ll be an increased Garda presence on Clare road over the coming week as part of their annual road safety campaign.
Thousands of people are taking to the roads over the coming days as they travel home for Christmas and visit family and friends throughout the festive season.
There will be extra checkpoints on the road as Gardaí look out for speeding, drink driving, failing to wear your seatbelt and using your mobile phone behind the wheel.
