Hopes High Clare’s Postponed McGrath Tie With Waterford Can Be Played

Munster GAA officials say they are hopeful Clare’s postponed McGrath Cup opener can be refixed in the coming week.

The Banner were due to face Waterford in Walsh Park on Sunday last, with the game being postponed after a mixture of Covid-19 cases and injuries in the Deise camp left them unable to field a team.

As it stands, Clare are due to host Cork in Miltown on Thursday evening, while the Rebels and Waterford are pencilled in to meet on Tuesday next.

It means that a refixed tie between Clare and Waterford could be played at some point next weekend, with the final of the competition due to be played on January 15th.
