There’s been a dip in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest INMO figures show 54 people have been left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 30 of those in the emergency department alone.

The overall figure is 8 more than the next busiest facility; Galway University Hospital and comes on a day when 470 patients have been left waiting on trolleys at hospitals across the country.
