It’s hoped the shooting of a new movie in Kilkee will ultimately lead to a considerable economic boost for West Clare.

Shooting on the made-for-TV movie will begin in Kilkee on July 22nd, with scenes also likely to be filmed in Kilrush, Ennis and at Shannon Airport.

‘Planlos in Irland, which translates as ‘Clueless in Ireland’ is being made by an Irish production company, Treehouse Media, for ARD, and the film is set to attract an audience of millions.

Paddy McCarney is the Location Manager for ‘Planlos In Ireland’ and he says Kilkee is at the heart of the story.

Kilkee Fianna Fáil Councillor and Tourism Consultant Cillian Murphy has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that it will shine an international spotlight on the area.

And he believes it highlights the importance of Shannon Airport to the West Clare economy.
