New Amalgamation To Enter 2023 Clare Senior Football Championship

A new amalgamation is set to enter the Clare senior football championship for 2023.

It means the proposed start date for this years race for Jack Daly will now be mid-July, instead of the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The February meeting of Clare GAA heard a combined application from Shannon Gaels, Coolmeen and Kilmihil to enter the senior championship as a grouped team, along with also competing under their own banner in the intermediate championship.

A second amalgamation may also be on the cards, with the decision on whether Naomh Eoin, O’Curry’s and Kilkee will be coming together to be known next month.

The meeting also heard that Clare GAA are launching another Win a House fundraiser, with this years prize situated on the Tulla Road in Ennis.

Head of Operations Deirdre Murphy also informed delegates that Clare GAA’s new ticketing partner, Future Ticketing, are the new sponsors of the Cusack and Clare Cup competitions, with prize money on offer for both the winners and finalists.
