Cork will provide the opposition for Terence Fahy’s side next Monday evening after a defiant victory over the Premier.

David Kennedy’s early goal saw Clare take the momentum in the opening quarter but mounting wides allowed Tipperary to restore parity on a 1-8 to 0-11 score line at half time.

Early pressure almost saw the home side in Thurles in for an early second half goal but the first two points of the new period came Clare’s way to settle them back into the contest.

That cushion remained as the game entered the final quarter, but a brilliant goal from Keith Smyth with five minutes left to play saw Clare open up a 2-15 to 0-17 lead.

The third goal arrived with the last action of the game as a long range free from Smyth deceived everyone on its way over the line.

Clare will now face Cork in the decider next Monday evening, with the fixture details to be confirmed in the coming days.
