Clare GAA Stalwart To Have Trophy Named In His Honour

One of Clare’s GAA stalwarts is being commemorated with a trophy named in his honour.

The memory of Miltown’s Noel Walsh, who passed away in 2020, will be enshrined in the Munster U20 football championship, where the teams will compete for the Noel Walsh Cup.

Noel was a former chairman of Clare and Munster GAA, and was part of the Banner’s management team for the 1992 Munster championship win.

He played a key role in having the Open Draw implemented in the provincial football championship and was central to the opening of Croke Park to other sports in 2005.
