The Minister for Justice says her department is considering advice from the Attorney General on publishing a report into the death of Patrick Nugent.

Judge Patrick Clyne submitted his report to the government over six months ago, with the AG’s office having provided advice to the Justice Department a number of months ago.

It’s understood that advice is still being considered, with Justice Minister Heather Humphries saying she does expect to be in a position to clarify a timeline for publishing a report, but is currently not in a position to do so.

Mr Nugent was 23 years old when lost his life in Bunratty Folk Park in 1984, and his family have campaigned for over thirty years to establish the truth of what happened.

No one has ever been convicted in relation to his death.
