An Ennis based coach service provider believes the Irish the sector is in real crisis as many operators face closure.

It comes as a new report by the Coach Tourism & Transport Council of Ireland estimates that coach operator turnover is down 95% for most businesses since the onset of the pandemic.

This is due to greatly reduced numbers because of social distancing on board, dented consumer confidence and the international travel ban cutting the number of tourists coming into the country.

Jackie Cronan of Glynns Coaches in Ennis says his company have one bus on the road when usually at this time of year they have 12 to 16.
