Addiction Service Says Clare Drug Problems Continue To Grow

The team leader with a prominent addiction service says problems with drug use in Clare continue to grow.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day, with the Ana Liffey Drug Project raising awareness of the drug Naloxone, which can reverse a heroin overdose.

An April meeting of Clare’s Joint Policing Committee was told offences relating to sale and supply rose by 14 percent here in the last 12 months.

Rachel O Donoghue, who’s Team Leader with the Ana Liffey Drug Project, says they’re saying a spike in demand for their services in this county.
