It is hoped that the knee injury sustained by Mark Rodgers may not be as bad as first feared.

The Scariff man is currently on crutches after being forced off during UL’s Fitzgibbon Cup semi-final win over IT Carlow.

It meant he missed out on Clare’s National League win over Offaly, but his spell on the sidelines may not be as long as was thought.

Clare boss Brian Lohan confirmed to Clare FM after Sunday’s win in Tullamore that Rodgers is due to meet a consultant on Thursday, but is confident that the injury is not related to the cruciate ligament as had been first feared.
