The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is almost double that of any hospital in the country today.
The latest INMO figures show there were 105 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 51 of those in the Emergency Department.
The overall figure is four dozen more than the next busiest facility.
