A South East Clare Councillor is calling on the local authority to ensure sufficient supports are in place to maximise the potential of the Women’s Irish Open being held at Dromoland Castle.

Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat McMahon says Clare County Council needs to take a leading role in preparations for the international spotlight which will fall on Newmarket-on-Fergus when they host the even in the Autumn.

Dromoland Castle’s 450-acre 18-hole championship course will play host to the prestigious golfing event from September 22nd to 25th.

 

Newmarket-on-Fergus Councillor Pat McMahon believes the Council should play a pivotal part in the months leading up to the competition.
