Honan Backing Townies To Reach Clare Senior Hurling Championship Final

Former All Ireland winner with Clare, Darach Honan, feels Eire Og will end their 22 year wait to reach the Clare senior hurling final this weekend.

The Townies last marched behind the band in the Millenium final, where they lost out to neighbours St Joseph’s Doora Barefield.

They take on Sixmilebridge in Sunday’s last four showdown, with Mattie Shannon’s side likely to be without Ciaran Russell through injury.

Clonlara’s Honan says while Sean Stack’s outfit have been impressive this year, Eire Og’s firepower may prove a bridge too far.

That one has a 2.30pm start on Sunday in Cusack with commentary on Clare FM with Sean Murray Car Sales and MC Auto Repairs.
