Clare Adoptee Says Information Delays Are ‘Letting People Down’

A Clare adoptee claims ongoing difficulties in obtaining adoption records is ‘letting people down’.

It’s after the Adoption Authority of Ireland and Tusla expressed concern that difficulties in recruiting social workers could result in significant delays in granting people access to their records.

Around 6,000 people have applied to receive their records, or those of their relatives, under the Birth Information and Tracing Act.

 

Anthony Morrissey, who’s from Cree, says he’s fearful people could end up with incorrect information due to the delays.
