On Wednesday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Damian Browne who is a former rugby player and extreme adventurer. Damian discussed the journey he completed last October where he became the first man to ever row from New York to Galway. He described the gruelling and daunting challenge that he faced during his 3,000 nautical mile voyage across the Atlantic Ocean. He also spoke about his delight with the achievement but mentioned his despair and disappointment by completing his voyage in Furbo and not Galway Bay. Damien hinted at what may lie in store in the future for himself and highlighted the difficulties he felt reconnecting with the world after his long journey at sea.
