The Minister with responsibility for the Office of Public Works says he’s keeping an ‘open mind’ regarding the prospect of CCTV cameras being installed at Clare Abbey.

The abbey has been subject to a number of instances of anti-social behaviour in recent times as well as fly tipping.

A caretaker for the site has been in place for a number of months, with the OPW suggesting anti-social behaviour has reduced since then.

However, responding to Deputies Joe Carey and Cathal Crowe in the Dail, Minister of State Patrick O’ Donovan says the prospect of CCTV is not off the table.
