Clare’s Green Party Senator has expressed confidence that the Government will survive a confidence motion in the Dáil next week.

The coalition faces two more Dáil votes on the lifting of the eviction ban; Sinn Féin will bring forward legislation to extend the ban until next year, while Labour’s tabled a confidence motion in the Government.

Yesterday, the coalition won a vote on a motion seeking to extend the ban, but Green Party TD Neasa Hourigan was suspended for 15 months for voting against the Government.

Inagh Green Party Senator, Roisín Garvey has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that the right course of action has been taken and she believes the focus must now remain on getting work done.
