Gardaí and Clare County Council are holding a free property marking clinic in Ennis next week.

The Clare County Property Marking Scheme is part of a nationwide programme aimed at combatting property theft and assisting in the identification and return of stolen property.

The clinic will be hosted by members of the Ennis Community Policing Unit and local authority officials at Ennis Mart from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday.

Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Triona Brooks says “there is no fee attached from Clare County Council. Marking is free”.

“Gardaí will also be present to meet people and answer any questions they may have in relation to trailer and towing safety, driver licencing and agricultural machinery on the roads”.
