A Midwest-based addiction counsellor has expressed concern over the increasing levels of young people with cocaine addictions.

A new HSE report has predicted that there could be a 55% increase in the number of cocaine treatment cases in the next three years.

The study anticipates that by 2026, there could be 2,503 new treatment cases for addiction to the harmful substance.

Addiction counsellor at Cuan Mhuire in Bruree, Michael Guerin, says cocaine addiction is out of control in this country.
