On Friday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Morning Focus listener, Claire Hogan and Clare St Vincent DePaul president, Denis Carty. Claire Hogan contacted the morning focus team regarding the expenses related to school trips and her own experience dealing with these expenses. Claire explained how she herself was not able to contribute to the costs for her own childrens’ school tour and outlined how she isn’t the only parent experiencing this. Denis agreed with Claire and said that school costs are putting immense pressure on parents and families. He discussed with Alan that the government have been trying to relieve some of the pressure but it simply is not enough.
