Clare will have a home quarter final in the All Ireland ladies football intermediate championship.
A brace of late Tyrone goals threatened to derail Clare’s season, but the full time whistle came in time to see the sides finish level at 2-9 to 3-6.
Tyrone’s first goal came inside the opening five minutes, but Clare responded well through an Aisling Reidy green flag to see the sides level at 1-4 each at the break.
Clare started the second brightly as Fidelma Marrinan and Chloe Moloney registered early points. The Banner looked to have taken real control of the game heading for the final quarter when Megan Downes found the net to put Clare 2-8 to 1-5 in front.
The Ulster side responded with their second goal to cut the gap to three, and a late penalty saw them restore parity.
The final whistle arrived moments later to confirm Clare’s place at the top of the standings thanks to their superior scoring difference.
