West Clare Land Dispute Sparks Outrage Among Quilty Residents

A West Clare Community group is raising concern over the threat posed to emergency responders by a local land dispute.

The commonage in Quilty, colloquially known as the Sandhills was traditionally used for visitor car parking at Seafield Beach.

However an area has now been fenced off, forcing motorists to park on both sides of the narrow approach road.

The Local Authority has previously withdrawn funding for the provision of a dedicated car park and widening of the road at the site, owing to the conflict of interest.

Chair of the Clohaninchy Action Group, Michael Neenan says the development has sparked outrage among residents.
