A Clare TD is urging the public to be aware of an ongoing fraud in the county, which is aiming to capitalise on the RTÉ payments controversy using his name.
It follows reports of a man & woman going from door to door in housing estates, with one purporting to be a TV licence inspector and the other impersonating a representative from Cathal Crowe’s constituency office.
Its understood the pair are particulary targeting area concentrated with an older demographic and are seeking up front cash payments for the licence fee.
Meelick based Fianna Fáíl Deputy, Cathal Crowe says anyone who suspects suspicious activity should contact Gardaí immediately.
