The newly crowned ‘Clare person of the year’ claims the title is a recognition of the many incredible people in the county who have influenced his life.
Professor Peter Daly, originally from Kilmaley was bestowed with the prestigous accolade on Saturday by the Clare Association of Dublin.
Professor Daly is particularly renowned for his work in advancing the field of oncology, in which he has a penned a number of specialist papers since joining the Royal College of Surgeons in 1975.
He says no award can be achieved without the teachings of tremendous role models in each and every community.
