It’s claimed s a new primary care centre mooted for Sixmilebridge will play a significant role in reducing overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick.

The HSE has confirmed it’s seeking expressions of interest from third parties to provide the new facility in the town.

When operational, the centre will deliver a wide array of services including Public Health Nursing, Dietetics, Speech and Language Therapy and Physiotherapy.

The HSE is hoping to progress to the priced offer stage of the project in the coming months, and Sixmilebridge Councillor PJ Ryan believes the new centre is essential to cater for the region’s growing population.
