Almost half a million euro owed by property owners to Clare County Council for leaving sites lying idle has yet to be paid.
Figures obtained by Social Democrats TD Cian O’Callaghan show the local authority has failed to collect €449,960 due under the vacant site levy since January.
As of May of this year, no money had been collected in this county under the levy for any of the 13 sites on its Vacant Sites Register.
The value of the Clare’s vacant or derelict sites amounts to €6,428,000.
