A Lahinch-based HR software solutions provider is calling for further supports in the construction industry to tackle the stigma around mental health.

A survey by HR Locker has found that around a third of construction workers have struggled with stress and wellbeing issues within the past 12 months.

The nationwide survey also found that 40% of employees in the physically-demanding sector are reluctant to take time off work despite the toll on their mental and emotional wellbeing.

Chief Operating Officer at HR Locker, Crystel Robbins Rynne feels that the stigma around mental health is a reason for a lack of new workers joining the industry.
