The MidWest counties consisting of Clare, Limerick Tipperary was the largest livestock producing region in the country last year.
The Central Statistic Office’s latest Agricultural analysis shows that €594m of the country’s cattle was produced here last year.
The MidWest was also the second largest milk and poultry supplier last year providing 21% of all milk in the country at a value of €1billion, while Poultry output accounted for €20m.
